How is down taken from ducks or geese for duvets and pillows? How do you feel about comforter covers/duvets (like, from ikea). Do you like them? Do they work?

I want to clean my duvet cover but don’t want the color to fade or for it to get those lint knobs. What’s the best way how often should I wash it?

  1. Danica Says:

turn it inside out, and put it in the washer. simple as that!
wash it like every 2-3 weeks. put it on a gentle cycle to be safe.

Use cold water. Dry it in the dryer, but take it out as soon as it’s done. The lint knobs are called pilling and they happen because of the fabric, not because of how you wash it. If you get a lot of pilling, you can actually shave it off with a razor — seriously, I have done it. Just a regular razor, it doesn’t have to be electric. No shaving cream required. :-)
