if u’r not looking for a thick cover but something of design or color u could use u’r blanket as well to put inside instead of a comforter that u want to chg or an old one. I’ve seen ppl. use them w/o anything in them but that kinda defeats the purpose of what they r used for. but whatever floats u’r boat.

Yes to both questions. The duvet covers would need a comforter inside them, however.
