If i put on more duvets so i sweat more at night, will it help me lose weight? What’s the best way to get silicone-based lube out of sheets, duvets, etc?

A duvet is great; it’s like a sheet that wraps around a comforter!

They’re gaining popularity because the under-sheet is out. Why spend all that time making the bed and tucking in the sheets, when you can just throw the duvet on the bed and be done with it. I also think they’re more comfortable than tradition sheets/comforter combinations.

The other difference is that a duvet needs to have the sheet cover put on, and a comforter is ready to use as-is, usually with prints and patterns on it.

Duvet covers fit over a comforter and are great to change the look of your room. Many people put duvet covers over their down comforters.

    Comforters are stuffed or filled.

A duvet cover is basically a fabric envelope that fits over a comforter — once you have it on the comforter, you close it with a zipper, snaps, buttons or velcro. The duvet cover will keep your comforter clean. If you would like to upgrade, you could get a good quality down-filled comforter (a good one will be pricey) and a duvet cover to go over it. Over time you could get several duvet covers and change them out when you want to change the look of your bedroom.

I’ve done that for years and my down-filled comforter looks like new even though it is nearly 20 years old.

a duvet is usually white, traditionally filled with down(feathers), but sometimes polyester or other fibres. its purpose is to provide lightweight warmth. it requires a cover to keep it clean as down is expensive to dry clean.
a comforter is similar, but almost always filled with polyester and made somewhat like a quilt..printed fabric sandwiching the fill.
