i believe duvet and cover are the same thing- you put your comforter inside a duvet, hen you only have to wash the duvet

    Same…just different names.

A duvet and a comforter are not the same thing. A duvet is a blanket/quilt for your bed that is filled with feathers or down and costs quite a bit more. They are also warmer and very nice to sleep under.
A comforter is a blanket filled with a cheaper alternative, not feathers. They are thinner and not nearly as warm or soft, but good if you live in warmer climate or during the summer months.
You can put a duvet cover over a comforter but you might find it looks a bit baggy since a duvet cover is meant to go on a duvet, which is a lot thicker.
    Hope that helps!

A duvet is a cover for your comforter. Usually I believe people put there plain white down comforters in them to liven them up a bit, or you can put your regular comforter in one to keep from having to have your real comforter cleaned.

Duvet are made or better yet filled with feathers this is why you are required to have a duvet cover, to prevent the feathers from venturing out and poke you even trough he fabric, it all depends on what type of feathers were used in the making a duvet, if it was made from down then the price will be more .
A comforter is filled with batting a synthetic material it depend on the thickness used , you don’t need to put a quilt into a duvet cover for the simple reason that nothing will stick out of the fabric , a duvet can only be cleaned with special care , in the old days they took the feathers out to wash and it took time and a lot of patience to refill and sew the duvet up , now days most of the cleaning is done by a dry cleaning technique. If you have the money buy yourself a duvet they are light in weight but very warm to sleep under. And they last for a life time if you take good care of them .

a duvet is a basically a huge bag that you put a white down comforter in. The duvet has zero insulating properties.

    You have 3 things confused.

A comforter is a fluffy blanket. They come in colors and patterns, and are stuffed with just about anything.

A duvet is a filled pillow case, usually white. Can be filled with feathers, down or poly. They are very warm and very plain.

A duvet cover is a patterned pillow case that you put over either a comforted or a duvet. Much easier to wash, and inexpensive to change.
