The best way to iron a double duvet cover? Where do y ou purchase your pillows and Duvets?

I have several old comforters that are in good shape that need to be updated so I thought I would make some duvets. I would like them to be a casual style, nothing fancy. Any idea how to do this?

I have used sheets to make a cover for my fetherbed….same concept. Just pick up two sheets the correct size, and sew them together on three sides. You can add cute buttons, or ties to close up the remaining side.

If you’ve got comforters, just stack 2-3 on top of each other.Take a stitch through all the layers every 12-16 inches. This will hold them all securely together. Whip stitch, or machine sew around the edge, and you’re done. Put them into any cover you want.

Just to clarify: a duvet is the insert; a duvet cover is what you make to stuff the duvet in to. A cover is simply a big pillow case that fastens at the top, doubles as a sheet, and usually can be washed. You can use old comforters to stuff a cover, but here’s a hint. Use safety pins on the corners to connect the insert to the inside of the cover, so it will not bunch up.
