When my dog is sleeping on my bed she crunches up the edge of the duvet and just sleeps with it in her mouth, almost like a pacifier. I wouldn’t mind but she’s making my duvet all dirty. I put down an extra blanket that she could do that too and she still moves the blanket out the way and ***** on the duvet. How do I stop this? Why does she do it in the first place?

ummm whats a duvet??
EDIT- Maybe she shouldn’t sleep in your room, or maybe you can get her to sleep in a crate in your room.

a Duvet is a comforter. insulated cover usually filled with down or feathers. Anyway if its an expensive one, then I would suggest you remove it from your bed at night and get a not so expensive or white one for the dog. As for why the dog is doing it? its a comfort thing. Its exactly like you said, a pacifier and since the dog was allowed to do it for so long I doubt its going to be easy to stop that. If you dont want to remove the duvet every night then cover it with an inexpensive cotton blanket that you can wash ever so often. Nothing wrong with the dog doing it, just take care to keep your pricey things out of her mouth. If she removes the blankets then YOU need to wake up every time and take it out of her mouth and replace it with something else. A toy or a towel what ever. its up to you to teach her not to **** on it.
